# Web Applications

Fast. Stable. Simple. These are all integral components of our highly effective web applications.

Building amazing products is the core objective of our work. There's a vast
range of technologies and tools on the web, and we've chosen JavaScript as our
primary language to build products. By focusing on a single language, we have
gained proficiency and a deep understanding of the mechanics of JavaScript web
applications.

We have been utilizing Node.js since 2011 (version ~0.4.1), around the time that
[Express](https://github.com/expressjs) had released version 2.0.0. The
technology has come a long way since its initial launch. In fact, Express is
about to release version 5.0 and there are various other frameworks to build
servers, such as [fastify](https://github.com/fastify). Zentered has helped grow
the Node.js community. We organized the first
[NodeConf in Barcelona](https://github.com/nodeconf/barcelona) in 2014 and had
the opportunity to host the following consecutive NodeConf conferences in 2015
and 2016. We co-organized the Node.js User Group in Barcelona, and spoke on
several events, helping where possible with open-source software. As a result of
these activities and the passion for Node.js, our team is highly efficient in
writing software for all kinds of environments or use-cases.

While we love Node.js for web application backends, we're continuously exploring
other technologies such as
[Swift on Server](https://zentered.co/articles/getting-started-with-swift-server/)
and [Hummingbird](https://zentered.co/articles/auth0-with-vite-react-swift/) to
see what might come next for our stack.

On the front-end our primary stack is based on React (with
[Next.js](https://nextjs.org)) and [Solidjs](https://solidjs.org).
